Hello! My name is Tanya White and this is my fourth year teaching first grade at Coronado Hills Elementary. I have worked with children for many years now and enjoy teaching very much. I received my B.A. from Metropolitan State University in May of 2006 and my M.A. from M.S.U. in May of 2013. Each day is a new beginning and a new adventure. It is wonderful to see students grow both taller and more knowledgeable as the year goes by. I look forward to many more years of teaching and growing, both from my students and myself.

Reading is near and dear to my heart and a very important skill not only in first grade, but throughout life. I look forward to encouraging your child to grow as a reader and helping them to develop the skills to become a life-long learner. Please make sure your child reads at least 20 minutes a day. (At the beginning of the year, this can include you reading to your child.) You will see much growth over the year and when a child reads at home, they can grow by leaps and bounds!
When I am not teaching, planning, or training to become a better teacher, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, hiking, or enjoying delicious food. I also love to read and when I have a few minutes to spare, I love to cozy up with a good book. I also love to travel and my dream is to spend a year traveling around the world, writing children’s books.
