I was born in Poland and emigrated to the United States (Chicago area) at the age of 16, along with my parents and my younger sister. In 1999 I graduated from the University of Illinois with the Master's Degree in Special Education. Since then, I have worked as both a classroom teacher and as a Learning Specialist on three different continents. At Coronado Hills, I work with students who need a bit of extra help in reading, writing, or math. Working with my students and helping them is what I love about my job; I also love spending time with my two small children, Julianna and Oliver. They change my life for the better every day! Before I came to Coronado ten years ago, I taught in the International School of Brussels (Belgium), the American School of El Salvador, and the Public Schools District outside of Chicago. The international schools I worked in offered IB Diploma, so I was very excited to see IB and PYP come to Coronado. We are so lucky to be a part of an IB family.
