Kindness Club kicks off at Coronado Hills Elementary

Recently Coronado Hills created a Kindness Club where we are working with student leaders in our school from all grades to promote kindness amongst students, staff and in our community. This club will incorporate CASEL's Framework into its weekly practices to promote the 5 social emotional core competencies throughout the school and community. Students will build upon leadership skills, improve teamwork skills, and refine social skills. With over 20 student members and climbing, students and staff have created such goals as improving student self care and confidence; promoting positive peer systems to decrease bullying and isolation; increasing teacher and staff morale, and support community members through random acts of kindness.

This story exemplifies our ELEVATE Focus Area: Safe Schools. Sharing stories about how the district supports student learning by providing a safe and secure environment.
