From our new principal

Coronado Hills Families,

I am very excited to be the Principal at Coronado Hills. I have been looking forward to leading Coronado Hills Elementary and developing a strong partnership with parents and community who support student learning.  I look forward to meeting everyone throughout the year.

This is my 17th year in education. I taught for 9 years and was an assistant principal for 5 years.  Before coming to Coronado Hills, I was the Principal at Namaqua Elementary.   I was the assistant principal at Coronado Hills 3 years ago, so if you recognize the name…that is why.  I have 2 boys, one in third and one sixth grade, and my wife is a school counselor in Adams 12 school district.

Our mission for Coronado Hills is to work collaboratively to inspire compassionate, inquiring, lifelong learners who think critically and care about the world around them.  Our vision of Coronado Hills is to ignite the culture and passion of learning to reach our highest potential and develop open-minded critical thinkers, who believe the journey is as great as the destination.  The mission and vision of our school is for our students to be globally minded and 21st century learners. This prepares our students for their educational journey.

We are in the process of authorization for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years program.   This amazing program supports our students by developing thinkers, learners and character through inquiry.  We develop thinkers and learners by using the PYP framework that is developed collaboratively with our staff.  This program of inquiry will help our students become critical thinkers and develop a love of learning Preschool through 5th grade.

We have a new website and a parent handbook to enhance our family communication. I will also be sending weekly emails/phone messages to ensure timely communication and updates. Please take time to review the handbook and look at our website for upcoming events.  We will have our class lists posted on August 18th at 5:00 on the front door. Our back to school night will be on August 18th from 5:00-7:30. Our first day of school is August 20th.

I want to say again how grateful I am to lead a group of kind students and dedicated educators. I appreciate all the parent support.  Let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to the school year.
