Welcome to the Coronado Hills Elementary Web Site. This is an exciting time to be part of the Coronado Hills community. We have moved into our new building and the students, staff, and community are very proud and excited about the opportunities that the new school presents. We have adopted "Education...explore the possibilities" as our theme. With this enhanced learning enviroment, a strong instructional staff, state of the art technology, and a strong supportive community, the possibilities for our students are endless. Thank you to our community who passed the 2004 bond and made the constuction of our new school possible. This is another demonstration of how the partnership between our school and the community improves the quality of life for all of us.
Student achievement is a priority at Coronado Hills. As part of our work to boost student achievement, we have carefully reviewed our student achievement data in Reading, Writing, and Math; we have developed targeted strategies and interventions to boost achievement in these areas. We feel that it is this type of focus that will continue to help our students succeed. With our focus on data, interventions and targeted changes in our instruction, we expect to continue to see improvements in our academic results.
Our school remains committed to developing a love of learning in our students, as well as an appreciation of each other and the community in which we live. We are currently using the Positive Behavior Support (P.B.S.) program at Coronado Hills which identifies, encourages, and rewards positive behaviors from our students. We will continue to develop this program to reinforce strong behavioral and citizenship habits in our students. We believe in developing the whole child, so all of our students receive regular instruction in Art, Music, and Physical Education. In addition, there are opportunities for students to participate in school designated after school activities, and each grade level takes educational field trips during the course of the school year.
While this gives you just a glimpse of our school, clearly, there's no substitute for seeing our school for yousself. We invite you to visit our school and your child's classroom. With your support, we look forward to a great year.
